I have a Kindle and typically throw it in my laptop bag as I go to and from work, I was worried about it getting scratched so I got this and it is exactly what I was looking for. It gives the kindle the protection it needs while leaving it fully accessible. It does double the weight of the kindle however if you wanted to you could easily pop the kindle out of the case when you read a book and then put it back in for storing. For me it's not that big of a deal, after all prior to my kindle I was reading books on my iPad which is WAY heavier. This is a great case, provides excellent protection and is very easy to pop on and off.
