Like many users, I prefer a Kindle cover to make holding the Kindle a more pleasant experience. Given the small size of the latest generation Kindle a two handed "open book" grasp on the device is critical. The spine of the new kindle is VERY WEAK and allows the cover to bend from the weight of the device which is distracting. Unfortunately, my impression of the new cover is very disappointing. Although it is indeed light weight, and that is important, the materials feel like stiff cardboard or plastic. I miss the leather smell and solid feel of the Gen 3 cover. Seriously, this cover is absolutely not worth $40 but what can you do? The Amazon branded covers remain the best solution because of their custom fit. But ugg, this thing feels very cheaply made and the spine issue is driving me crazy!
